What to include in an oral-care wholesale enquiry
The details that let a supplier quote accurately first time — and the ones that are easy to forget.
Updated
A quotation can only be as precise as the enquiry behind it. When a request says “Oral-B, please send prices”, the supplier has to come back with questions before anything useful can be quoted. When it names exact products, quantities and a destination, a quotation can usually be prepared in one pass. This checklist follows the fields on our request form and explains why each one matters.
1. The exact products
Name each product the way it appears on the pack, including the variant. “Marvis Whitening Mint 75ml” is quotable; “Marvis toothpaste” is not, because flavours and tube sizes are separate items.
- Size or pack count — 75ml and 100ml tubes, or 4-packs and 8-packs of brush heads, are different lines.
- Model and colour for electric toothbrushes and water flossers.
- Interdental brush widths — list each width you need rather than “assorted”.
The simplest way to do this on our site is to add items to the enquiry list from each product page. The list keeps the exact option you selected, so nothing is lost in retyping.
2. Quantities, and the unit you mean
Give a quantity for every line. Our enquiry list asks for individual units because carton and pallet quantities vary by product and are confirmed with the quotation. If you think in cartons, say so in the notes and give the number of units you expect per carton — we will confirm the actual case size rather than assume it.
If you are not sure yet, a realistic range (for example “500–1,000 units”) is more useful than leaving the field blank.
3. The destination country
This is the detail most often missing, and it changes the answer. For the same product name, the right version for your market may differ in:
- pack language and labelling;
- formulation or regulatory status of some toothpastes, mouthwashes, gels and sprays;
- for rechargeable products, the plug or charger type if your market needs a specific one.
We confirm eligibility and the correct product version for your destination with each quotation, so please state where the goods will be delivered, not only where your company is registered.
4. Who you are buying for
Tell us your company name, business email and what kind of buyer you are — importer, wholesaler, distributor, pharmacy, retailer, online reseller or dental purchasing team. This helps us put the right trading terms and paperwork in front of you. Small businesses are welcome; a website or company registration link helps us respond faster.
5. Timing
If you have a target delivery date, include it. If the date is firm (a promotion or a tender deadline, for example), say so in the notes so that the quotation can reflect it.
Quick checklist
- Exact product names with size, flavour, model or width
- Quantity per line, in individual units
- Delivery destination country
- Company name, business email and buyer type
- Target date and any packaging-language requirements
Everything else — trade pricing, availability, minimum quantities and delivery terms — is what the quotation confirms back to you.
Describing products that are not in the catalogue
You can also ask 3 Eli to source products that are not listed. Choose Request products not listed on the request form and give the brand, the product name as it appears on the pack, the size or model, the quantity and the unit. A reference link to the product is welcome; our team uses it only as a reference and does not open it automatically.
A sourcing request is an instruction to investigate, not a confirmation that the product is available.
